Hey Ahmed, are you not trying to hook up too many PTZs though by any chance? Cos I made the same mistake - i tried to put 8 PTZ each drawing a POE+ power - so every time I tried to add another the previous one would go dark.
I spoke to Ed at Armsec so he recommended that I checked whether my cameras set exceeded the budget of the NVR - and yes, they did. It also caused some plug0n-play issues, so that the camera would not pick up automatically the passowrd sety up on the NVR - so the cameras became plug and play with some settings tweaks.
Anyways - have a look a the pics below to help you work out if you have the same issue! Just check you NVR's total budget and check how much each of tyour cmaeras requires.
Thanks for that. that all adds up! I'll double-check on Monday but it definitely sounds like the culprit!
Assuming that you are relying on PoE, could it be that the cablign are tool long? I had this issue when I was mounting a camera on my gazebo. I think that max cable lentgh should be around 60m.
Thanks for that Andy (pikachu). I use Cat5e cables and their maximum span is like 45 meters, so it should hepfully be ok?
How did you solve the issue anyway?
@ahmed1972 45 m sounds as it it should not be an issue.
I added a PoE midspan.
As another option, if you don't want to mess with PoE midspans, you can just power the cameras with standard PSUs.
